The cold effects are relative risks of a 1°C decrease in temperature below the thresholds. The hot effects are relative risks of a 1°C increase in temperature above the thresholds. The thresholds were 0.7°C in Beijing, −0.6°C Tianjin, 26.9°C Shanghai, 25°C Wuhan and 27.8°C Guangzhou.
